Lazada: My online shopping peeve

A lot of people take shopping lightly but I don’t. I guess that’s why I get furious when I have a hard time comprehending some of the shopping sites I buy from. I don’t understand why some online sites make it impossible for the customers to maneuver from one page item to another. Online websites were made to make our lives more convenient. But instead, some people over do their online skills and feel like making their site more complex is a good thing.

I hate e-book sites that go through multiple pages before landing on the actual download link. That defeats the purpose of easy accessing online. I also don’t get why some websites trick their customers into visiting another site. I get that some use this as marketing strategy but I never really have patience for such shinanigans because I don’t like swaying away from what I set out to do. Some of my friends insist I have OCD but I just think order is important and crucial to success whether it’s a simple errand or not. I basically hate internet scamming that diverts customers from one trail of work to another.

Shopping online is probably one of the few things I can always rely on when going online. The shopping sites I buy from at least. Stores like Metro Deal, Lazada Philippines, Sulit and many more can be easily distinguished on the first visit. The products are laid out and are detailed clearly. Product description is probably the most essential part when shopping online. Since customers can’t hold the item they plan to buy, they rely on details as specific as possible so they can imagine just what they’re getting. Sizes, colors, material, brand and features are just some of the information normally listed alongside product pictures. This makes it easier for customers to decide. Search tools are also important for websites that have massive product storage. Lazada and Sulit have very good keyword search bars that help narrow down product search. That’s always an issue for shoppers because it takes time and effort to check options from different brands. Most of the time, I stick to websites that I understand from the moment the page loads. Normally, the sites that take time to get figured out are the ones that correlate to bad customer service.

There are a lot of ways to make websites user-friendlier. And these website features normally are the reason why said sites become fan favorites. Exploring a website can be brutal if the site has no proper order. And for it to be able to truly embody its purpose which is customer convenience, websites whether e-commerce or not should figure just how much they are willing to spend both in effort and capital on website layout. After all, it’s a medium very powerful and if overlooked can cause serious loss of money. Now who would want that? Invest on the basic setups first before you go trying to impress customers with other uncalled for features. Simplicity is always appreciated no matter what other people say.
