Lazada: Filipinos’ lack of adventurism causes minimal progress

We can only gain so much from our respective priorities and hobbies. But the things we tend to overlook are surprisingly what can serve better purposes. These said things offer solutions we never thought would be answerable by the simplest things. But that’s the beauty of innovation and progress. There’s always something better to look forward to.

From my point of view, the naked eye ironically refuses to see what is presented to us. The way we deal with measuring depth in life is looking beyond the obvious making us pretty much oblivious to reality. Take the act of online shopping for instance. Some see it as a mere form of owning things easy. But it is far more beneficial than what people generally think. For one thing, it saves a lot of time and effort on the part of the Filipinos that do not have a few hours to spare for making quick and essential errands. Now normally you would only focus on the idea of accomplishing an errand and not see the true beauty behind the evolution of online shopping.

Lazada offers a wide array of products and despite how efficient the selections are, Filipinos still forget to acknowledge how effective it can be. People turn to Lazada for those quick errands and disregard the convenience it can provide. Its reliability sometimes gets even questioned as if its services are not supported by legal and legitimate governing bodies that can attest to how safe and secure its financial performances are. Do you even know that it was ranked as the top contender for the BEST online shopping site for 2013? Actually, scratch that. It wasn’t just a contender. It ruled supreme above all other websites but of course, no online shopping enthusiast would go out of their way to research on the very thing that is helping to stabilize their sanity (shopping). The amount of advantages Filipinos gain from a single online store is incomparable. It outnumbers benefits of other methods that have been long overused by Filipinos because of their lack of adventure to try something outside their comfort zone.

As much as I would like to commend Filipinos for looking back on tradition and strongly holding on to their values, I see this as one of the very reasons the progress here in the Philippines is lacking in drive. How does one expect to excel immensely when he or she does not try something beyond what is expected and/or safe? Ideally, Filipinos wait for what is ‘meant’ to come because of fate. You know how the saying goes, right? If it’s meant to be, it will happen? But what if it doesn’t? Will you just allow yourself to be misled by outrageous presumptions and allow yourself to be beaten by your very own refusal of good change?

Unless something drastic takes place, Filipinos will stay as vulnerable as they are now. Just imagine how westernized we still are even after years of being out of America’s sovereignty. Despite the many influences that have come and go in the Philippines, Filipinos still choose to stick to what is familiar which to an extent a bad thing becomes. And it will forever affect why progress in the Philippines remains unresolved up to this very day.
