It's actually very advisable to those who would rather break down their expenses into monthly installments to make each monthly bills lighter in terms of load. My brother used this a number of times already. He tells me that it makes him less guilty to purchase more items than usual because the total amount he has to pay for at the end of each month is the same as paying in one full blow. 

Don't beat yourself up for having just a reasonable amount of pay compared to how much you pictured yourself earning before being an actual taxpayer. It's not impossible to make your dreams happen even in the simplest form of material possessions. As long as you're not spending too much or above what you can afford, you have every right to enjoy the money you worked very hard for.
