Lazada's conscious effort to make its products accessible

A few people would say that an online shop is only as good as its products. True. But that doesn't eliminate the important factor which is the mode of payments available in an online shop. An online store's success can be measure with its profits. And profits require customers to be able to pay for their purchases.

Lazada is considered one of the most successful online stores in the Philippines today. It's not just because it has made millions in a year span of existence that has made it one. It's its power to offer affordable prices without sacrificing the quality of their products. The online stores in the Philippines are apparently not as engaging as those in foreign countries. Filipinos are fond of going to the malls and though they are obsessed with online surfing, this does not necessarily translate to them visiting online stores. It's rare that a single-product functioning website can become as popular as a brand that can be found in malls. But out of pure skills, Lazada was able to climb its way to the top and create a website that embodies the essential needs of Filipinos and more.

It is owned by an international company called Rocket Internet. This online venture building company, over a decade old has given online selling a whole new image in the selling department. Reselling products from various brands both locally made and internationally sold, it was able to reach out to an impressive percentage of the online market. But out of sheer genius, they were able to make their market grow more fonder of them with their flexible payment methods. They have cash on delivery and credit card payments, both very essential in making their items attainable to the Philippine market. Cash on delivery is a direct payment approah where a customer is asked to pay only at the time of delivery. No down payments necessary to reserve an order. Upon order, a customer will be asked to choose a method that fits them the most. At that moment, they can choose cash on delivery (COD) that serves as their cash based payment or they can avail their credit terms with a use of any credit card under VISA or MASTERCARD. The credit payments are dependent on the present promo of the said website. Some credit payments are more liable to discounts, no interests and monthly installments.

Online stores have to be sensitive to their clients. They have to be able to address concerns even before it is brought up because unlike stores that have store employees, they can't sway customers over the internet while they are looking around the site. Payment methods are make it or break it factors that must be solidified prior to a website being launched. Not all websites give everyone equal opportunities to avail its products. Most often than not, companies that require delivery make credit card payments the only option for purchase. This immediately brushes off clients with no credit card registration. Companies that offer cash on delivery are more prone to being given false hope. But this very vulnerability makes the company more customer friendly.
