Some Strange Sports & Monopoly Philippines

While surfing the net for some interesting stuff to take myself out of boredom zone I found this interesting sites and articles that features activities considered as sports. I also found this Monopoly board game Philippines version which I never thought board-game people will attempt to do. Saw it here. My little sister bought a Monopoly board-game with the original “currency” which is pounds but with the Philippines version I think she’ll love the game even more. Anyway, here’s the my top 3 interestingly strange “sports”:

Weirdest Sport of all: Beard and Moustache Competition

Men have set another standard to measure their manliness, through growing their facial hairs highly-styled! The first Championship took place in Höfen-Enz, Germany, in 1990.

There are 3 brackets of facial hair: Moustache, Partial Beard and Full Beard. Each bracket is broken into individual categories. There are usually 17 categories but there were 18 different categories for the 2009 championships. Amazing creativity!

Weirder Sport: Toe Wrestling
Toe wrestling sees opponents try to force each other’s feet down in a best-of-three "toe-down", in a similar format to arm wrestling. Top players include Tom "100m" Martin, Paul "Tomatominator" Beech and Alan "fiesty" Nash, who is the current world champion.

It never crossed my mind that one can use toes to wrestle another toe. That’s ouch and very odd.

Weird Sport: Cheese Rolling

Once again, the Brits have not failed to surprise me with their awesomeness! This is one activity we can call sports, Cheese Rolling! It is an annual event held somewhere in Gloucester.

From the top of the hill a round of Double Gloucester cheese is rolled, and competitors race down the hill after it. The first person over the finish line at the bottom of the hill wins the cheese.
