Controversial Music Videos Aired

If famous people are controversial, then so are their projects. Is it because they crave attention? Is it because they crave the money that comes along after attention? Is it because they crave to break free from the norm? We can never really say. But I present to you controversial videos of late that have captured the amazement of some people and the disgust of some people as well.

Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus
And we thought We Can’t Stop was shocking. Here is Ms. Cyrus with her controversial song and video. She just can’t stop!

Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke ft. T.I. and Pharell
The song really consists of blurred lines. Some people have shown distaste over this song for its indirect attack on women’s actions.

Pour It Up by Rihanna
All this twerking madness has provoked Rihanna to show her own kind of twerk. But it’s the most NSFW twerk yet.

PlayStation 4 News

Image from us.playstation.com

The much-awaited new console, PlayStation 4, from company Sony has been finally released to the consumer market. The very first customer reported to purchase the new PlayStation console was Joey Chiu.

In light of this recent release, Sony announced that the PS4 will be in “good supply” throughout the nearing year-end and new-year holiday. “Sony aims to sell 3 million PS4 systems this holiday and 5 million consoles around the world by the end of its fiscal year in March 2014. The PS4 sold over 1 million units during its first 24 hours in North America after launch on November 15. The system will be released in Europe on November 29 and in 32 countries in total for the holidays.” (gamespot.com)

Reception
But for some, the excitement turns to frustration as they claim that they wound up with faulty units. “There have also been technical issues with the initial rollout of machines. Some purchasers are complaining that the console's blue led light is continually blinking to indicate a hardware fault. According to comments on sites such as Amazon and Twitter, affected machines have intermittent audio and video faults while others power down randomly.” (theguardian.com)

Action
Sony states that its customer hotlines and online contact portals are open to support consumers who are having trouble/s with their purchased units. The company has also published a troubleshoot guide on its website. Digitaltrends.com also offers a comprehensive troubleshoot guide.

Personal Verdict
Initially released products are prone to bugs and defects so when I want to purchase a gadget, I usually wait a while so that I can further research about the product based on others’ user experiences. It’s always good to hear about actual user facts rather than just from the claims of the manufacturer and its paid advertisers.

Ways to Hush Your Baby

There are times when it seems that babies cry for no reason. If feeding or giving toys won’t work and you have no idea on how to stop them from crying, maybe these tips will help.

  • Babies are sensitive to sound. Any loud ruckus will surely annoy them or make them cry. Talk softly to them and play any baby sounds or lullaby. Want him or her to fall asleep, play a lullaby tune via mobile phone app or TV, turn on the air conditioning or electric fan (gentle breeze please), and sit on the rocking chair while cradling him or her.

  • If you want your baby to fall asleep, dim the lights and make a hushing sound. You may also download a baby sleep app which produces lullaby music or endless sound recording of a hair dryer or air conditioning. That kind of sound is said to be similar to the sound babies hear while in the womb so if it’s familiar to them, they may oblige and fall asleep. Try gently stroking or rubbing his/her forehead with your thumb and sooner or later, he/she may fall asleep.

  • Wrap baby (not too tightly) especially a newborn in a baby blanket. Swaddling can be helpful since the tightness can be familiar to that of the womb. It also keeps him/her warm.
  • For months old or year old babies, let them watch their favorite shows and they may stop crying. If the show isn’t on yet, use your DVD copies or youtube it.
