The much-awaited new console, PlayStation 4, from company Sony has been
finally released to the consumer market. The very first customer reported to
purchase the new PlayStation console was Joey Chiu.
In light of this recent release, Sony announced that the PS4 will be in
“good supply” throughout the nearing year-end and new-year holiday. “Sony aims
to sell 3 million PS4 systems this holiday and 5 million consoles around the
world by the end of its fiscal year in March 2014. The PS4 sold over 1 million
units during its first 24 hours in North America after launch on November 15.
The system will be released in Europe on November 29 and in 32 countries in
total for the holidays.” (

Reception
But for some, the excitement turns to frustration as they claim that
they wound up with faulty units. “There have also been technical issues with
the initial rollout of machines. Some purchasers are complaining that the
console's blue led light is continually blinking to indicate a hardware fault.
According to comments on sites such as Amazon and Twitter, affected machines
have intermittent audio and video faults while others power down randomly.”

Sony states that its customer hotlines and online contact portals are
open to support consumers who are having trouble/s with their purchased units.

Personal Verdict
Initially released products are prone to bugs and defects so when I
want to purchase a gadget, I usually wait a while so that I can further
research about the product based on others’ user experiences. It’s always good
to hear about actual user facts rather than just from the claims of the
manufacturer and its paid advertisers.
